Not understanding the value of a book like this, years ago, I had my mom complete a book similar to this for my son. Her dementia progressed the past few months and we have enjoyed reading this book aloud with her and reminiscing of her answers. The value of a book like this is far greater since she passed in June This particular book is more extensive, it’s more like journaling. I purchased this recently and have been writing answers as a way to gift to my son in the future. The book is good for international use some of the questions are a little bit different, but that’s what I liked about it the most. In the center of the book there’s a place to complete the family tree. It would definitely be a great idea to share one copy among siblings. Great conversation starters in years to come.

i just got this in the mail and I’M trying not to cry reading all of the wonderful prompts, it’s astounding the things i don’t know the answers to and would have never thought to ask

i disagree with the reviews about it being too small and there being not enough space to write, each section offers two extra pages of notes (and in the back) for extra room for each prompt. the book is beautiful and elegant looking, the prompts are not basic at all (coming from a writer) and there is no more special gift than this, i hope she completes it. with my mother being 73 years old, this gift is timeless and irreplaceable, you can’t get your loved ones stories back or time in this generation, we’ve quit giving cards and making family photo albums, with everything being digital, and all in one place — it’s really really beautiful/and special.
